Meridian Operations

We take great pride in our operations at Meridian Airlines.

Our flight schedules are realistic, based on those used by major carriers. Your actual arrival times may vary somewhat from our published times as we include allowances for ATC delays and traffic, and take seasonal winds into account. Our flight schedules will be monitored frequently and adjusted on a seasonal basis to keep them up-to-date and popular with our pilots.

Our flight request procedures are among the most advanced and generous in the VA industry. While many other VAs prepare "pre-selected" groups of flights for their pilots to bid for, we chose to take a different approach. At Meridian, our pilots have the opportunity to fly any route in our route network, regardless of their hub location. This essentially provides the opportunity to literally explore the globe at your leisure. Let's take you through a quick sample of how it all works...

Use the Flight Request (FREQ) form request the "line" you'd like to fly. This can be between 2 and 10 flights. To select flights to fly, the process is simple: Either search our online timetable or print out a copy (which is highly recommended) to view offline. Look the schedule over and determine where you want to go. Your only limitations when submitting your monthly flight request are that you must start and end your request at your assigned hub. The rest is completely up to you. As soon as you complete all the flights you chose, you may submit another flight request, as soon as you have reported the previous flights.

Once you determine where you'd like to fly, you place your flight request with your hub manager from the Operations Center. You will not be notified by e-mail, but your assignments will posted on your hub roster page. When your request is approved, and you are ready to fly, visit the Operations Center and click on the "Flight Dispatch" link. We will provide you with almost all the info you will need to complete your flight, including airport and runway information, radio frequencies, gate assignments, the aircraft you'll be taking on the flight, and more. This information will be current, and some information such as aircraft assignments are subject to change daily due to maintenance or logistical issues.

After you complete your flight, you visit the Operations Center to file your flight report. Once submitted, it will be sent to your hub manager for review, and once it's approved, the flight time will be logged in your online pilot log and the roster will be updated.

You can view your online Flight Records from the Operations Center at any time.
